Influenza vaccination information

Private and government funded vaccines for 2024 are now available at the practice. Private flu vaccine fee is $25.

​Bookings for flu vaccinations can be made online or by calling our reception staff.

Vaccines may also be given during a standard GP consultation which can be booked online.

Please note that children aged less than 9 will need 2 flu vaccinations 1 month apart IF this is their first flu vaccination​.

Patients over 65 will receive an adjuvanted vaccine.

The influenza and coronavirus vaccine can be given at the same time. All patients booking an over 65 flu vaccination can receive the newest Moderna booster at the same time as their flu vaccine if they are eligible.

Some patients will receive influenza vaccination free through the National Immunisation Program. This group includes;

(a) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over

(b) children aged 6 months to under 5 years

(c) people aged 6 months or over who have medical conditions that mean they have a higher risk of getting serious disease (see list below)

(d) pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy

(e) people aged 65 years or over

Long-term medical conditions that can lead to you having a serious case of the flu include: 

  • heart disease

  • Down syndrome

  • lung disease

  • conditions of the nervous system (such as multiple sclerosis)

  • liver disease

  • kidney disease

  • diabetes

  • blood diseases

  • metabolic disorders.

If you do not fit any of the above criteria we recommend you pay for a private influenza vaccination. This will be an equivalent vaccination given to the at risk groups. These vaccines will cost $25
